A Defender TMA absorbs the impact and energy of the collision. It acts as a cushion or sponge that absorbs the incoming vehicle and dissipates the kinetic energy in a structured manner. The controlled deceleration ensures that the occupants of the approaching vehicle are absorbed and do not crash into the mobile work zone. First and only CENTS16786 crash cushion rated for 100 km/h in Europe.

You read that right; Wagenaar is the only European manufacturer that has succeeded in working with a crash cushion. The familiar yellow cushion, made entirely of aluminum, has been tested according to the new European specifications. Our system has passed all four tests.

Also unique is that the total weight of the test vehicle ranged from 10 to 18 tons.

docking station:

The docking station, is also part of the test. Wagenaar chose to make the intermediate support particularly durable. This crucial part not only supports the crash cushion but also supports the signaling consisting of an arrow light or LED board, and of course, it connects to the vehicle. The combination of a docking station, clear signaling, and an extremely safe crash cushion makes this a truly life-saving combination.

The Signalization Board consists of:

The frame or board has a red/white retroreflective striping of 300 mm in HI film class 3
The 22 highly efficient Nissen LED lamps of the arrow light are of the type L8H according to European standard EN12352
The 4 corner flashing lights on the signaling board are 200 mm, class L8H
Country-specific, we replace 4 corner lights with 2 x 340 mm L9H lights
The traffic sign D1 is electrically adjustable and measures 900 mm
The centrally placed sign A31 has a dimension of 700 mm
Or will you go for a fully graphical EN1266 LED board? If you want more flexible signaling, opt for an LED board. With a full-color LED board, you have the option to visually display traffic signs, texts, warnings, and lane narrowing

The combination of the Defender 100 km/h crash cushion and the LED board is therefore our absolute safe preference.

Operation:

The remote control is wireless and connects to the system via Bluetooth.

With the control, you can open and close the crash cushion with a simple push of a button, even while driving – you receive clear feedback on the screen indicating the position of the crash cushion.

You can also control the warning lights or the LED board with the same controller. Everything is clearly displayed on one controller with a touch panel. This way, you can easily see necessary information and the operator can check what is displayed on the rear crash absorber.

Additionally, you can read the light intensity and battery voltage on the control panel.

Everything is done from the cabin of the truck, making it particularly safe for the operator.
